Chairman's Introduction
Welcome to the website for Locomotive Owners Group (Scotland) Ltd.
LOG(S) Ltd. was incorporated on
8th May 1973 as a private limited company with the aim of acquiring a
reasonably modern steam locomotive. To that end they acquired
ex-BR
Standard Class 2-6-4T No. 80105 from the famous Barry scrapyard in
Wales in 1973. In the intervening years they have also acquired
two 100hp, vertical-boilered, Sentinel shunting locomotives, “Denis”
and “John”.
The locomotives are all based on the Bo’ness & Kinneil Railway,
Bo’ness, West Lothian, EH51 9AQ. They also own some
coaches, POT
80437, SK 24895 and BSK 35304; the latter is currently on hire to the
Wensleydale Railway in North Yorkshire.
LOG(S) Ltd. is not the recipient of any external grants or commercial
sponsorship. Funds are raised directly from shareholders or through
retail activities. A shop is based in an ex-Royal Mail van (POT
80437) at Bo’ness whilst a sales stand attends some model railway shows
and local swap meets in Central Scotland.

learn some of the history of LOG(S) and its locos; plus the continuing
restoration, overhaul and maintenance of the same.
LOG(S) Ltd is a full member of the Heritage Railway Association (HRA),
Main Line Steam Locomotive Owners Ltd (MSLO) and the BR Standard Steam
Locomotive Owners Group (BRSLOG).

As you know; all the model railway shows that we'd planned to
attend, plus Falkirk Swapmeets after March, were cancelled. All
organisers have said, back in 2021.
Indeed Falkirk Swapmeet issued a provisional list of dates for
2021, but already the first few have been cancelled.
We all have to hope that the Covid-19 vaccines currently being
approved are the longed-for light at the end of the tunnel.
In the meantime keep safe and we hope to see you somewhere
during 2021. |
